Mkhondo Local Municipality is committed in prioritizing service delivery. On the 17 January 2020, The Executive Mayor, Cllr Vusi Motha together with Councillors and Muncipal Management, handed over a Paving Block Project in ward 7 (Group 10), Outfall Sewer Project in ward 17 and a Waste Water Treatment Project in ward 11 (Eziphuzini).
The Executive Mayor, Hon. Cllr Vusi Motha together with Cllr TS Mafuyeka and delegates from Eskom, embarked on a journey to handover an Electricity Project to the community of Rustplaas in ward 6.
The community came out in numbers to welcome the project with gratitude.
South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) together with Mkhondo Local Municipality were having a stakeholders engagement session today.
This session, held under the theme "Transforming the Mpumalanga economy, one kilometre at a time"
The aim was to foster dialogue between SANRAL, local municipality, businesses, and traditional leadership. SANRAL, an agency of the National Department of Transport, addressed the need to empower local businesses and also informed stakeholders in attendance on the agency's contribution to infrastructure development in the region.
The MLM Target office under the office of the Executive Mayor, Hon. Cllr V Motha, visited Mlilo Comprehensive School in Rustplaas Ward 6, with the aim of sharing information with regard to bursaries and related information. The office also given all the girls packs of sanitary towels.
Mkhondo Local Municipality Environmental Unit, led by Mr Vusi Dube together with Mkhondo Environmental Forum engaged in tree planting drive as to celebrate Arbor Month.
" Dealing with Air pollution and Climate Change"
As the Women's month (August) has began, celebrations of honouring women's month continues all over Mzansi (South Africa). On the 16 August 2019, the office of the Speaker of Mkhondo Local Municipality, Cllr GT Nkosi with Ondlunkulu hosted a programme which has become a 3rd year Annual programme.
The government departments in partnership with Mkhondo Local Municipality gathered together on the N2 national road near Mondi placed a roadblock, ensuring motor vehicles are road worthy and also ensuring that no illegal stuff found on the vehicles, the search being done by female traffic officers.
The Department of Health, Home Affairs and Correctional Services, were giving out condoms to motorist preaching sexual protection for themselves and everyone who engage on sexual activities and also given pamphlets with informative knowledge needed by the public.

The Department of Agriculture, Rural and Development in partnership with Mkhondo Local Municipality paid a visit to Nokuthula Primary School at Sigudada in Ward 08, Under the theme of "Action Against Poverty". The aim of the visit was in line with commemoration of Mandela Day....
Gert Sibande District Municipality working together with Mkhondo Local Municipality, National Youth Development Agency and other stakeholders hosting a Youth Day Commemoration Imbizo.
The Imbizo is being honoured to be graced with the Executive Mayor of Gert Sibande District Municipality, Hon. Cllr Chirwa and Hon. Cllr Vusi Motha, Executive Mayor of Mkhondo Local Municipality.
The Imbizo is aimed at celebrating and giving honor to the 1976 young heroes and heroines, who gave their lives fighting against an unjust and inferior apartheid education system.
Mkhondo Local Municipality convened a Youth in Business Breakfast through the Office of the executive Mayor .
Various Youth Agencies were invited by the Municipality , to give public education and to give information in paricular to young people of Mkhondo .
Youth Agencies that were present includes: SEDA , NYDA , TWK , GS Center Entrepreneurship Development Agency and Mkhondo Local Municipality Supply Chain , the whole intention of this platform was to conscietize young people of Mkhondo to tap in Economic opportunities in business.
The Youth of Mkhondo and surrounding areas were so grateful to be part of such an amazing event.
